QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN RESERVING GOATS
Many people are quite surprised after reserving animals as to
stipulations set by farms concerning the purchase of their
goats. Our goal is that our buyers will have a very positive
enjoyable experience working with our farm. The following
questions may help when finding a farm to purchase your next
kid...
Can reservations be moved from one animal to another.
We have no problem moving reservations if we have another
kid available in which to move your choice.
Do you give refunds.
Although not a practice we wish to follow frequently, we have
given refunds on a case by case basis.
If I am not pleased with the kid I had reserved, am I obligated
to take a kid to which I am not 100% satisfied.
We have not had this happen but our goal again is that our
customers are completely satisfied with there purchase. A
buyer is not obligated to take a kid in which they are not
completely satisfied. Your reservation can be moved to a
different kid if available or to the next year. The reservation fee
would not be returned.
If my goat should become ill, or injured am I obligated to buy
this animal.
Absolutely not. We are up front and honest with any injuries
or illnesses.
Again this rarely happens, but we feel again it is the buyers
choice. The reservation fee would be returned.
What diseases should I be aware of prior to purchasing a goat
from a farm. What testing should be done.
CAE, Caseous Lymphadenitis and Johne's are contagious
diseases that would be quite significant.
We provide written documentation of negative testing done
annually. We have never had any of the above diseases in our
herd.
Is there anyone available to answer questions after I have
brought my goat home. For the benefit of our customers, we
will be offering seminars in 2012 on all aspects of the care of
your goat as well as showing, breeding, nutrition, etc.
We are available 24/7 to answer any questions. We encourage
all of our buyers to maintain contact with our farm.
Do you help transport animals. Is there a charge.
We do assist with transports, and charge only what the cost of
gas and tolls are to us. We do not charge a fee per mile or an
hourly fee.
Do you fly animals.
We fly anywhere in the US. Charges to the airport would be
the same as the above transport fees.
Can I return a goat after it has been removed from the farm.
Again this is really rare, and would be determined on a case by
case basis. Very seldom do we accept animals after sold due
to the possible disease threat to our herd. Required testing
would need to be completed and the goat vet checked before
any return would be considered.
Do you have a health guarantee and how long is the guarantee.
We guarantee upon purchase and removal from our farm your
kid is healthy, free of any disease. Once the animal is removed
from our care, we cannot guarantee your animal's health. That
being said, should your animal develop any type of defect
within the first year of growth, the buyer would need to provide
a vet statement of proof, the buyer would be offered a choice
of another kid.
