Topper is just another example of a Smokey doeling. She is long, level and
oozes dairy character. A stylish refined flat boned smoothly blended doe.
She has a tight shoulder assembly, long neck, length from hips to pins, wide
rump, and ideal general appearance. Her dam Pixie is the smallest doe on
our farm, and freshened with tremendous udder capacity. We had decided,
as an after thought, to take Pixie to a show spring 2011 as a first freshener.
She certainly showed us, taking first and second out of 11 first freshening
yearling does in her class. When standing with the older does for Grand and
Reserve, the judge remarked that Pixie had the most capacious udder of all
of the aged does standing and felt she had tremendous potential as an older
doe. When Topper was 2 weeks old I knew I had to keep her. Her
tremendous length of body, and smoothness of blending was already
obvious at that age. She is one of my favorite 2011 does.
